Compositing
WinImages has extraordinary compositing capabilities. You can composite still images into other still images, composite still images into moving images, moving images into still images and moving images into other moving images.
All such compositing operations can resize and move while being inserted, and full alpha handling means that partial and complete transparency capabilities are always available.
WinImages offers the most powerful layered image handling of any program for Windows, and you can use the many layer keying modes to control how layers composite into/onto one another.
For instance, an interesting example we show on the site is detailed in the
Squid Tutorial,
which shows how WinImages can be used to "lift" an object off a backdrop and insert it into another image, complete with partial transparency and shadowing.

Flexibility is Key!
In addition to its specialized layer keying modes and ability to insert images using alpha-aware linear compositing, WinImages also offers unusual keying and compositing operators that allow you to directly combine moving streams of images using various non-standard techniques such as additive (for lighting and plasma effects), subtractive, even maximum and minimum.
You can control the scaling of the composited elements at all times using a splined key-frame approach where you specify two (or more) key frames that the software then uses as interpolative guides; the compositing operation will automatically adjust from the size and position of the task in one key frame, to the size and position of the next key frame. Technically, WinImages is actually morphing the area selection(s) used to place the actual composited image.
WinImages compositing power doesn't end there, either. WinImages easily handles tough film and video tasks like wire removal and motion stabilization; it can also "rough things up" for you by adding film grain, frame jitter and even flicker for an "old-time" film look. Professional level blue- and green-screen techniques are right at your fingertips, as are advanced screening tools available in no other software.
It is no exaggeration to say that WinImages brings more compositing power to your desktop than any other program available for desktop PC's.
