The above fire was generated in one pass using WinImages' Fire operation. We took an empty fireplace, added some logs using layers, used a warp layer to rotate and size the logs to match the fireplace size and orientation, then dropped the fire operator into the timeline and let fly.
Although the demo animation is very small to reduce download time, you can still see many of the features of the fire operator:
- Flame tips "tear off"
- Flames wobble horizontally and vertically
- "Heat" distorts items seen through the flames
- Loops of flame animation are seamless
- Flame color can be precisely controlled across 4 regions:
- The effect can be additive, so it illuminates
- Location of the flame base can be precisely controlled
- Length of the flames can be precisely controlled
You can generate log fires, candles, torches and more from presets we provide, and you can generate all kinds of unusual fires - colored "chemical" flames, really weird plasma kind of flames, you have complete control. Check out the documentation on the effect for more information.
